What do you want others to know about lupus?

Lupus affects everyone who has it differently, and is life threatening. I have SLE and developed ITTP which affected my blood so bad I almost had a stroke. Through the years I have found that if I stay on a gluten free, dairy free diet with no red meat or breads my lupus flares are less. I take imuran and plaquenil to manage my lupus. Lupus attacks organs.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

Because of my Lupus holding a job has been impossible. You can only call in sick so much before you get canned. Quite honestly I can't blame any employer. I'm on DSB. and I try to keep busy. I find myself getting very depressed because knowone should have to live with so much pain.Lupus has depleted alot of muscle and I hate it. Can't go into the sun because I get flares, it's just no way to live.Of great importance you must be positive at all times and only hope there will be a cure with no side effects.
